Edmond Tan has worked in the public health industry for over five years and has been recognized for going above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic. Edmond has worked in a spectrum of rehabilitation settings including community mental health, long-term care, home health, and acute care. He has been successful in creating and achieving recovery plans for clients with both mental illness and physical health challenges to return to work, school, and remain independent in their homes and communities. He has built a strong foundation in mental health from working for The West End Mental Health Team.
Edmond’s community experience involves empowering clients to participate in meaningful vocations and activities. In particular, he strives to create individualized plans for every client he works with. This includes equipping clients with tools and strategies for them to manage their symptoms, enabling clients to be independent in their community through adaptive equipment, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure clients return to their daily routines as comfortably as possible.
Edmond’s philosophy of care is dedicated to providing empathetic care that focuses on respect and collaboration. Outside of work, Edmond enjoys reading non-fiction novels, road running, swimming, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
