In 1986, Dana completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. From 1986 to 1989, she worked at the Worker’s Rehabilitation Centre in Saint John, New Brunswick providing work conditioning programs and functional capacity evaluations for injured workers.  Additionally, she worked at the Saint John Regional Hospital providing splinting services for clients with hand injuries.  She began working at the Vancouver General Hospital in 1990 providing occupational therapy services on the Organ Transplant, Orthopaedics and Medical Surgical services. From 1991 to 1997, she was the Occupational Therapy representative on the multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Program for Vancouver General and University Hospitals and was closely involved with development, implementation and monitoring of the staff musculoskeletal injury prevention program, teaching staff back care and reinforcing safe work practice.  Additionally she provided ergonomic worksite assessments and recommendations and work reintegration for employees returning to work after injury.

In 1997, Dana segued to private practice and has worked in this capacity since that time  performing medical-legal work/functional capacity evaluations, cost of future care assessments, job demands/ ergonomic worksite analysis, heavy equipment and commercial driving assessments, power mobility and cognitive assessments.

Since 2012, Dana has been accepted as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of British Columbia for the purposes of work/functional capacity evaluation and occupational therapy. She has pursued additional training in functional evaluation, cost of care assessment and ergonomic assessment.

In her free time Dana enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities including hiking, snowboarding, and soccer. She recovers from these activities through regular Pilates, yoga and wine tasting. She has competed in two World Master’s Games in soccer in Australia and Italy.
