Registered Clinical Counsellor
Shelley is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia who has been practicing for over 20 years. Her counselling approach is client centered, trauma informed and solution focused. Client concerns that Shelley has offered counselling support for during her years of practice include: Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Anger Management, Substance Use, Disordered Eating, Life Transitions, Grief, Coping and Stress. Some of the therapeutic techniques that Shelley utilizes with clients to support positive change are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills.
Working collaboratively, Shelley supports clients to recognize their strengths, gain insight and build skills to bring about change. She believes that being non-judgmental and compassionate are key components for supporting people towards constructive change. Shelley is committed to helping clients effectively work through their challenges so they can experience improved quality of life.
During her leisure time, Shelley enjoys spending time in nature, as well as yoga, cycling, baking and reading. She considers herself a lifelong learner and often pursues new topics of interest.
