We provide functional capacity evaluations, cognitive capacity evaluations, vocational consulting (return to work planning, ergonomics, and job demands analyses), occupational rehabilitation, and community health services (PT, OT, and Counselling) to employers, WSBC, ICBC, LTD carriers, the provincial Work BC network, lawyers, and the public. What You'll Be Doing
We are looking for an individual with skills and energy to assist clients who have sustained a variety of work-related injuries. The Occupational Therapist will work in an Occupational Rehab 2 (OR2) program, alongside Physiotherapists, Counsellors, Physicians and Kinesiologists. The goal of the program is to support injured workers through their rehabilitation journey with the ultimate goal of returning to work.

The role of the Occupational Therapist includes but is not limited to:

  • Conduct functional assessments
  • Develop a graded work simulation program
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and monitor graduated return to work plans
  • Perform job site visits
  • Assist with job coaching
  • Provide timely written and/or verbal communication of assessment findings and treatment outcomes
  • Provide ongoing group and individualized education to clients, individually and as a group, with a focus on a timely and safe return to work
  • Active participation in regular team conferences involving injured workers and members of the interdisciplinary teams

What You Need to Be Successful
For the current employment opportunity, we request candidates to have 18 months experience as an Occupational Therapist with 6 months experience with return to work rehabilitation services, functional assessments, or other job site experiences (job demands analyses, ergonomic analyses, return to work organization with employers at the job site). Training and mentorship is available for candidates who do not quite meet the requirements.

  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC (COTBC)
  • Possess malpractice insurance of at least $5 million per occurrence
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently
  • Have excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to various job sites around the Lower Mainland
