Registered Occupational Therapist
Shadrach graduated from the University of Kwa – Zulu Natal, Faculty of Medicine and School of Rehabilitation Sciences in South Africa in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Shadrach practiced as an Occupational Therapist in South Africa until he moved to Alberta in 2012.
Prior to working with Re: Function, Shadrach worked at Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in South Africa gaining experience in medical, surgical and pediatric conditions. Over the 5 years of practicing at Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital, Shadrach was promoted from Junior Occupational Therapist to Senior Occupational Therapist and then to Chief of Staff in 2009 where he held this position for 3 years. During his time in South Africa, he contributed to public health promotion through his experience on a weekly radio broadcast program where he discussed a variety of topics including medical, surgical and pediatric conditions. In 2012, Shadrach moved to Alberta where he worked at a private rehabilitation clinic in a small rural town providing occupational therapy services to both the private and government sectors. These services included community occupational therapy, long term care, hand therapy clinic, outpatient clinic, performing functional capacity evaluations, ergonomic assessments, job demands analyses, return to work programs and occupational rehabilitation programs.
Shadrach’s current practice at Re: Function focuses on performing ergonomic assessments, return to work support services and community occupational therapy services for clients with various neurological, physical and/or mental health injuries and/or disorders.Download CV
